- Answers unit/department telephones and greets visitors according to departmental procedure; screens calls and takes messages or refers caller/visitor to appropriate staff member.
- May page staff member if necessary.
- Receives and transcribes physicians’ orders according to established guidelines.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One year previous clerical experience and experience with various personal computer software applications.
Georgia State University: Event Coordinator
The Conference Coordinator serves registered student organizations, university departments, and external clients with their reservation and event planning needs for meetings and events to be held in Student Center-managed spaces.
- Processes reservation requests made by registered student organizations, university departments, and external clients; helps process 12,000+ requests annually with more than 8,000 events taking place within the Student Center
- Assists with the daily operations of the office, including purchases, maintenance of office software and or equipment, troubleshooting software issues, and front-desk scheduling.
- Advises clients of the capacity and capability of Student Center event spaces (20 meeting spaces, including the 674-seat ballroom and 413-seat auditorium)
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with the ability to build a good rapport with clients; must be able to enforce and follow policies while still delivering quality customer service
- Great attention to detail
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
