Food Resources
If you and your family are facing difficult decisions, a few community organizations would like to help. Your family’s health is your first priority during this time; making sure they have plenty of healthy food is a huge part of that. As soon as you think you might need some help, we would like to encourage you to reach out to us. With the help of our community partners, we are here for you in several ways:
- Text “FindFood” or “Comida” to 888-976-2232 to find local food partners in your area.
- The Atlanta Community Food Bank‘s Help Map is an interactive map listing all the food partners, including food pantries, school pantries, and Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning meal sites.
- Call (678) 553-5917 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for help applying for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a federal program that helps millions of Americans put food on the table. You can use SNAP to purchase food from your local grocery store and participating farmers’ markets.
- The Department of Human Services: Division of Family & Children Services’ food commodity programs provide nutritious food to low-income citizens. These programs are federally-funded nutrition assistance programs of the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) agency.
- Food4Life provides Free grocery delivery for those impacted by COVID-19. Visit their website to see a full list of those who they support and to apply for assistance.
- Visit https://www.findhelp.org/ to access a database of resources ranging from food to legal aid.
